Stainless steel slitting and flattening are the first steps in the deep processing of sheet metal, which process the coil into finished sheets of different widths and lengths to meet the personalized needs of various industries for stainless steel sheets.


1、 Technical principles


Slitting processing involves cutting a wide coil into multiple narrow strips using a longitudinal cutting unit. The core component is a precision disc cutting edge, and the edge clearance and tension control determine the cutting quality. Kaiping (cross cutting) flattens the coil and cuts it to the required length. The equipment includes an unwinding machine, a leveling machine, longitudinal cutting (optional), cross cutting cutting, stacking device, etc. The leveling machine eliminates the warping and internal stress of the sheet by using multiple sets of staggered leveling rollers to obtain a flat finished product.

Stainless steel strips and Kaiping are widely used in the processing of incoming materials in industries such as building decoration, kitchen equipment, pressure vessels, automotive exhaust pipes, elevator cars, etc. A certain stainless steel trading and processing center is equipped with a complete set of imported slitting production lines, which can process various stainless steels with a thickness of 0.3-3.0mm and a width of 500-2000mm, with an annual processing capacity of over 30000 tons. The selection should be based on a comprehensive consideration of material quality, thickness range, width range, accuracy requirements, etc. Thin material slitting requires higher sharpness and consistency of the disc cutting edge; The mirror material needs to be protected from scratches. Common problems: Edge burrs (blunting of the cutting edge or improper adjustment of the gap); Plate buckling (insufficient leveling pressure or worn rod system); Uneven thickness (incoming board shape is too poor).
